The management of Steno
The Steno management board is a multi-disciplinary team with representatives from four sections: hospital, education, health promotion and research.
From January 2010 the management comprises
• Knut Borch-Johnsen, direktor of Steno Diabetes Center
• Ebbe Eldrup, manager of Steno Education Center
• Allan Arp, finansial manager
• Thomas Almdal, manager of the outpatient clinic
• Bjarne Bruun Jensen, manager of Steno Health Promotion Center
• Peter Rossing, manager of the research
The management’s tasks
The management of Steno is responsible for a range of tasks, for example, interdisciplinary issues, including the coordination of the goals and strategies of the three sections: hospital, education and research. Steno management has the overall responsibility for a number of areas, such as developing patient treatment and research, quality development and education. It is also responsible for Steno Diabetes Center’s relation to the public hospital system, Novo Nordisk, the universities and other providers of education.
The management areas of the four sections
The four: hospital, education and research have independent management groups. These groups are responsible for making decisions in their area.
• The management of the hospital deals with the day-to-day running of the hospital and is responsible for treatment and clinical development.
• The management of the education unit is responsible for the planning, course development and the running of all educational activities in relation to the statement of aims and agreements with Capital Region and Novo Nordisk.
• The management of the research unit is responsible for research and development and the coordination of activities between the research groups.
