Practical Diabetology (PRAC)
The practical diabetology course (PRAC) is an education concept targeted towards diabetes teams. The course lasts three days and is held four times a year, twice abroad and twice in Denmark. When the course is held in Denmark, a visit to Steno Diabetes Center is included.
The course content
The course is a mix of interactive teaching and workshops. There are plenty of opportunities for discussion and swapping experiences. Also included is the concept ”life as a diabetic: try it”, where course participants try for three days to live life as a person with type 1 diabetes.
The education team
A chief physician, who is the course leader; a course coordinator; a course administrator; two diabetes specialist nurses; a podiatrist; a clinical dietician; an education consultant (psychologist); and two bioanalysts are educators on courses in Denmark.
