Research in betacell failure

Two research groups are active in this area:

• Thomas Mandrup-Poulsen’s research group is working on illuminating the causes of type 1 diabetes from a cellular biological, genetic and clinical aspect.

• By combining different approaches to genetics, gene- and protein expression studies, Flemming Pociots research group is working on increasing the understanding of the genetic regulation and the molecular mechanisms that lead to beta cell dysfunction and diabetes.
