Steno Education Center
Steno Education Center delivers education in diabetology for diabetes teams based in Denmark and in other countries.
Mission
• Education in team-based diabetes management, drawing on Steno Diabetes Center’s expertise and experience
• Knowledge of the latest findings and research in all areas of diabetes |
Course activities
In collaboration with the education committee in the Capital Region of Copenhagen, two course types have been compiled and arranged for general practitioners and care personnel working in the primary care sector.
Courses arranged in collaboration with Novo Nordisk include:
• Four annual courses in Practical Diabetology (PRAC), two of these are run in Denmark and two are run abroad
• A Steno-Oxford symposium in collaboration with the Oxford Centre for Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism (OCDEM)
• A Steno Symposium: ”Frontiers in Clinical and Experimental Diabetology”
Steno Education Center also runs the STAR-project.

The educators in Steno Education Center
In addition to the education in the Education Center the manager, the chief physian and the diabetes nurse are also associated to the treatment of patients in the outpatient clinic at Steno Diabetes Center. Consequently they have regularly contact with diabetespatients in the consultation in the clinic.
