Steno Education Center

Steno Education Center delivers education in diabetology for diabetes teams based in Denmark and in other countries.

Mission: to offer doctors and other members of diabetes teams throughout the world:
• Education in team-based diabetes management, drawing on Steno Diabetes Center’s expertise and experience
• Knowledge of the latest findings and research in all areas of diabetes

Course activities
In collaboration with the education committee under the Copenhagen County diabetes committee, two course types have been compiled and arranged for general practitioners and care personnel working in the primary care sector.

Courses arranged in collaboration with Novo Nordisk include:
• Four annual courses in Practical Diabetology (PRAC), two of these are run in Denmark and two are run abroad
• A Steno-Oxford symposium in collaboration with the Oxford Centre for Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism (OCDEM)
• A Steno Symposium: ”Frontiers in Clinical and Experimental Diabetology”

Steno Education Center also runs the STAR-project.

Management
The Education Center management consists of the head of the Education Center Ebbe Eldrup (chairman), a head nurse and a senior scientist.
