Patient Care

Our clinical mission is to offer people with diabetes a life expectancy and quality of life equal to that of people without diabetes

Facts about patient care

  • We treat about 5500 patients
  • We receive people with type 1 and type 2 diabetes from 16 years of age for examination and treatment
  • We have about 25,000 visits annually in the outpatient clinic
  • On average the patient sees 2-3 different cross-disciplinary therapists at each visit, since we try to concentrate as many visits as possible into the same day
  • We offer short-term admissions to our day-bed unit
  • We use fully implemented electronic medcial records (EMR)

The management of the outpatient clinic consists of
Martin Ridderstråle, Head of the Clinic
Kirsten Engelhard Nielsen, Head Nurse
Merete Frandsen, Manager of the laboratoy
Susanne Mittag, Manager (medical secretaries)
Bettina Ewers, Head of Nutrition & Dietetics
