The Steno 2-study
The results from the Steno 2-study, which was published in 2003, led to a breakthrough in the treatment of type 2 diabetes. Since then these findings have formed the basis for optimal treatment of type 2 diabetes.

After the publication of the first results in 1999 the new knowledge was acted and put into use at the type 2 diabets clinic at Steno Diabetes Center. The entire model was implemented later.
